To all citizens of the European Union in Tajikistan

The German embassy in Dushanbe would like to inform all citizens of the European Union in Tajikistan and their family members of the following:

There are still no official COVID-19 cases in Tajikistan. However, it cannot be ruled out that there are already cases in the country..

Foreign travelers upon arrival are subjected to a 14-day quarantine in a state medical facility, even if the travelers do not show symptoms of an illness.

The opportunities to leave Tajikistan are drastically reduced and could soon no longer exist. According to the embassy's knowledge, there is only the possibility to fly to Europe with the airline FlyDubai on Saturday, March 21st, 2020 via Dubai. It should be noted, however, that the United Arab Emirates will refuse entry to foreigners from March 19, 2020 and will only grant transit. A travel option is currently only available (as of March 19, 2020) if the travelers do not have to leave the transit area of the airport in Dubai. It is not known how long this regulation will last. It cannot be ruled out that cancellation of flights will result in longer waiting times in the transit area. For more detailed and up-to-date information, please contact the airlines you want to travel with.

The embassy currently has no knowledge of other exit options. However, in order to enable later sensible planning, the embassy asks everyone who is considering a later departure to send a message to the email address info@dusc.diplo.de. For those who do not want to or cannot use this exit option, the following applies: It is possible that you will be forced to stay in your apartments for a longer period. Therefore, as a precaution, create a certain stockpile, especially of cash, drinking and industrial water, medication, hygiene articles and food.
